What’s A Dasmah?

One of most asked questions that we get is “What does the name mean or stand for?”. dasmah Productions, Inc., dba dasmah Accounting, was named after a saluki dog named Dasmah. Dasmah was born in the royal kennel of Saudi Arabia. On of the tasks of the dogs was to help train the royal falcons to hunt.  Dasmah was given as a gift to an employee that later become ill and had to move back to the States. Unfortunately, the owner died and we were asked to take the dog.  Dasmah made an immediate impact on our family and the other dogs that we owned at that time. Through time she demonstrated that she was definitely a unique dog and one that had to be reckoned with. She did have a temper and was very quick at displaying her displeasure. At the same time, she was very loyal and showed love not only to us but also the pack of dogs that she led. No one messed with her, her pack or her human family. She quickly gained our respect and trust that she would do whatever is necessary to protect us and still demanding her reward for her services. Her pack consisted of Dara, another female saluki, and Sabu the only male saluki.  Our neighbors got into the habit of calling the pack “The Girls” to the point that all three responded to this group call.
